The company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation was $3.38 million, compared to $3.67 million last year.
Earnings were distributed across key business areas of manufacturing, food processing, logistics, construction and rural services.
Chairman Ross Keenan said the board considered this a strong performance, as it grew out of severe effects on the first half of the year.
He said second half performance was impressive with net profit after-tax at two-and-a-half over first half earnings, and over 50% up on the second half of the previous year.
The group said the potential acquisition referred to in the half year announcement did not proceed, though it continued to examine sector growth opportunities, and had a strong bank balance and no debt.
The company has declared a final dividend of 4.5c per share, making a total for the year of 6c, payable on June 25 to shareholders registered before June 18.
The group's shares last traded at 68c on May 11.
