'Surprise' factor seen keeping GDP growth above OECD average

Economists are expecting a 0.8% lift compared with 0.5% in the first quarter; much higher than a Reserve Bank forecast.

New Zealand may no longer be among the frontrunners in the global GDP stakes but neither is it far off the pace among advanced economies, a new OECD survey shows.

Statistics NZ releases the second quarter performance on Thursday and the consensus of a Bloomberg survey of economists is for a 0.8%
