Applications are open for access to radio spectrum as part of the Government's pledge to improve broadband services to rural New Zealand.

Parties wanting to provide wireless broadband services could apply to the Ministry for Economic Development for access to the 2.5 GHz band, Communications and Information Technology Minister Steven Joyce said.
