Chalmers Organics appoints independent directors

Chalmers Organics has announced the appointment of two new independent board members – Wayne Tollemache as chair and Kiran Patel, a director – to broaden the skills and capabilities of the board to assist in driving the next phase of growth for the business.

Tollemache is a seasoned international C-level executive having lived and worked in Asia for 10 years from 2002 to 2012. During this time he led significant business change and growth in multiple countries and cultures through organic strategies and mergers and acquisitions.

A Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors (NZ), Tollemache has 10 years of governance experience in New Zealand working primarily with family and privately owned companies improving company performance through robust governance principles. 

His international experiences have enabled him to develop a unique set of skills allowing him to work within diverse cultural environments and maximise complex relationships.

Kiran Patel. 

Kiran Patel has extensive experience and expertise in providing advice to companies in the areas of strategy, transformation, business improvement, and mergers and acquisitions. He spent nine years working at McGrathNicol as a director in its restructuring and advisory team, providing advice to banks and boards. Prior to this, he spent four years at KPMG in its assurance practice. Patel is a Chartered Accountant, Associate Member of the Institute of Directors and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Property from the University of Auckland.
