Pernod Ricard features actresses Kate Beckinsdale and Zooey Deschanel in a print campaign for Absolut Vodka.
Both ads have drawn complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority.
No surprises there. The ASA fields complaints about almost every ad that runs, most from time-wasting nutbars.
The eye-brow raiser is that in a decision released last night, the authority upheld the complaint against the Kate Beckinsdale version of the ad, albeit in a minority opinion.
It was deemed too sexually provocative - a no-no under Principle 2 Guideline 2d of the Code for Advertising Liquor, that does not allow links between sex and alcohol.
But the same complaint levelled at the Zooey Deschanel version of the ad was not upheld.
ABOVE: Kate - partially upheld. BELOW: Zooey: Not upheld.
