The National Party has received several large donations from Auckland business people totalling $355,000 in recent months.

Auckland woman Susan Chou gave the party $150,000 on July 30 following her $50,000 donation on June 11.

Antoines Restaurant, in Prime Minister John Key's home suburb of Parnell, donated $105,000 in June and Auckland BMW dealership Team McMillan which gave $50,000 last month.

Antoines' owner Tony Astle had told media he made the donation because he "loved" Mr Key.

The Labour Party has not had a big donation since April when it received $25,000 from its former General Secretary Andrew Michael Beresford Smith of Wellington.

Political parties are required to declare donations over $20,000.
