Apollo Marketing has won Australia's B&T’s Promotional Agency of the Year for the second time running.
The B&T awards include categories such as Media Agency of the Year and PR Agency of the Year, with many open to both New Zealand and Australian agencies.
More than 60 judges assessed this year’s entries, naming Apollo Marketing the Promotional Agency of the Year based mainly on scores from the organisation’s submitted body of work, agency culture, commercial success and impact and momentum.
The agency is owned by Aegis and clients include Vodafone, Smith’s, Pernod Ricard, Subaru, DB Breweries, Sara Lee, Kellogg’s, Kimberly Clark and Coca-Cola.
Campaigns this year include Mainland’s Taste the Difference of Time and VB’s Summer of Cricket.
Apollo managing director Ruth Money said the agency had maintained its momentum from last year to continue building its team, clients and calibre of work.
“We really feel like we excelled across the board this year. While we won 23 new clients and doubled the number of brands we work on in 2011, we also managed to retain all our key clients. Importantly our staff retention was also exceptional at over 90%.”
WPP-owned MediaCom was named Media Agency of the Year, an award decided by the editorial team of B&T, with finalists including OMD and Starcom, The Monkeys took out Advertising Agency of the Year and Whybin/TBWA/Tequila were highly commended.
One Green Bean took out PR Agency of the Year with finalists including DDB’s Mango and Employer of the Year was won by Play Communications with finalists including Clemenger BBDO Melbourne and MediaCom.
Specialist Agency of the Year was also won by Play Communications with finalists including Naked Communications and Interbrand.
