Australasian professional engineering and design company Harrison Grierson has appointed Nik George general manager – buildings.
Mr George has high-level experience in large-scale major complex projects.
He has been with Harrison Grierson’s Christchurch office since 2012 and was recently promoted to senior associate.
He has a masters of civil engineering (Hons) and is a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers and of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Glen Hughes has been appointed regional manager – South Island. Mr Hughes ws previously with another large engineering professional services firm, where he was southern regional manager and led the company-wide response to the earthquake recovery in Christchurch and Canterbury.
He is a member of the NZ Planning Institute, a companion to the Institution of Professional Engineers NZ, a member of the Infrastructure Working Group, president of the University of Waikato Alumni Association and a trustee of the University of Waikato Foundation Board.
Richard McIntosh has been appointed general manager land development. Mr McIntosh is a chartered engineer (civil) and project manager with experience in the water industry in the UK and New Zealand. He was previously employed by Watercare in Auckland.
He has a bachelor (Hons) of civil engineering and a NZIM diploma in managerial excellence in engineering and construction.
He is a chartered professional engineer and member of IPENZ. Ian Craig has been appointed technical director, urban design. Mr Craig is the founder and manager of the company’s urban design team. He leads urban design in major projects involving structure planning and master planning of residential and business growth areas.
Simon Murphy has been appointed technical director. Mr Murphy is the engineering manager at Harrison Grierson’s Auckland Airport office and has more than 24 years’ experience in urban development and civil infrastructure.
The company has also promoted to principal Jenson Prasad, engineer, Auckland; Abu Hoque, urban designer, Auckland and David Napier, engineer, Tauranga. It has promoted to senior associate Nicola Smalberger, engineer, Auckland; Nik George, engineer, Christchurch and Grant Rae, engineer, Tauranga. It has also promoted to associate Andrew Simpson, John Petrovic, Mark Bayfield and Mike Chapman, (all engineers, Auckland); Andrew Jackson, engineer, Wellington and Clare Tolan, surveyor, Auckland.
