Labor wins big in Australia

The polls had pointed to a Labor victory, but the magnitude of the victory exceeded predictions.

Australia’s Labor Government has romped to a landslide re-election victory, leaving its centre right opponents in disarray, with Liberal leader Peter Dutton also losing his seat in Parliament.

The election was called as a Labor victory only two and a half hours after polling closed on the east
