Sentencing of two directors of the Christchurch-based Balmoral Homes building firm has been delayed a month while talks continue on reparations payments.
The directors, Leslie Day and Malcolm Jones, pleaded guilty in October and crown prosecutor Claire Boshier said reparations totalling $102,000 were being sought.
The sentencing was scheduled for the Christchurch District Court today but was put off till March 17 so that discussions could continue to seek an agreed reparations figure.
Day admitted 21 breaches of the Fair Trading Act and Jones admitted 23 charges of making a false representation.
Balmoral Homes went out of business two years ago.
The prosecutions relate to the company continuing to represent to clients that they were registered master builders when the company had been suspended and then expelled from the scheme.
Some clients building homes discovered when the company went out of business that they were not covered by the master builders' guarantee.
