Sameer Handa has been appointed Managing Director, Beijer Ref Australasia.
The move follows the Scandinavian refrigeration giant Beijer Ref’s acquisition of the ninety-year-old New Zealand company Patton NZ Ltd.
Beijer Ref is one of the largest refrigeration and air-conditioning wholesaling companies in the world, which is listed on the Stockholm exchange. It has a presence in 32 countries and is the largest wholesaler in Europe, looking at increasing its presence in Asia.
Mr Handa was Group CEO with Patton for the past 17 years. Under his leadership, the Patton Group expanded its presence in Australia, the Middle East and entered into new growth markets like South East Asia via Thailand and India. Mr Handa is an experienced business leader with extensive experience in management and leadership roles in various countries through several industries.
He has a good knowledge and understanding of International trade through his work experience in the Middle East, Fiji, India, Australia and New Zealand. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE Mech.) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA from Sydney University).
