BHP/South32 split will miss out on tax law change
The new law should cover the National Australia Bank and NZME demergers.

New Zealand Shareholders’ Association chairman John Hawkins says legislation removing the tax on shares of demerged companies will only be backdated to April 1, 2016.
That means it won’t apply to the BHP/South32 split in 2015, the demerger which sparked the Shareholders’ Association’s
