Big Communications managing director Ant Salmon said it was a full service account, including brand advertising and work to support each of the local Barfoot & Thompson offices.
He said the local offices did their own advertising and the head office worked on brand advertising, which needed to work at a local level as well.
“There’ll be stuff that we do for them, and stuff that they do themselves and there’ll be stuff that we do that they will need to be able to repurpose for their own network.”
Big Communications had already started work with Barfoot & Thompson pre-Christmas, he said. There was no set contract period.
“We have a pretty good history of developing long term relationships so we’ve got clients that we’ve had for pretty much all of the time we’ve been going.”
Barfoot & Thompson marketing manager Jen Baird said while the real estate agents had been served well by brand agency Voice, their advertising needs grew to require a full service agency. She said the relationship came to a mutual and amicable end, and Barfoot & Thompson had been talking to Big Communications since lat last year.
“Barfoot & Thompson is a family-owned company with a rich heritage in Auckland and it is important that our agency partner understands our core values. Ant and the team at Big bring all the right experience and skills to the table.”
Mr Salmon said the agency was delighted to have an opportunity to have Barfoot & Thompson as a client.
