French-owned BNP Paribas Securities Services has appointed former JP Morgan product head David Braga to head up its Australia and New Zealand branches.
Mr Braga, who will start the role in mid-May, replaces Peter Baker, who left in October last year.
Mr Braga has 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry and was previously head of product in custody and fund services at the Australia and New Zealand arms of JP Morgan Chase & Co. Before this, he was a technology head at BT Funds Management.
He is also chairman of the Australian Custodial Services Association, which overlooks Australia’s custody and investment administration sector, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Doug Cameron remains the local head in New Zealand and current acting head Ian Perkins will remain head of client development.
Mr Braga said in a statement he was pleased to join the team after being impressed by BNP’s global capabilities, client focus and commitment to the Australia and New Zealand markets.
