Chinese demand pares annual trade deficit to $5.2b

Booming farm exports to China led by dairy and meat products helped narrow the overseas trade deficit by $100 million in the past year.
The figure may be less than impressive but at least annual deficits have steadied since they first exceeded the $5 billion mark in December 2017.
