Conservation judicial review threat blocks Northland peat project

The 20-year project had council consent and was on iwi land.

A peat extraction project in Northland that would have created up to 60 jobs has been halted after conservation groups lodged a judicial review application.

Resin & Wax Holdings (R&W) gained Northland Regional Council consent in March to extract and process kauri resin and wax from peat deposits
