October trade deficit tops $6b for first time

Importers are on a roll, fuelled by surging oil prices and demand for electronics equipment, clocking up a record $6.2 billion tally in October.
This has also pushed the annual merchandise trade deficit out to $5.8b, the highest in 11 years. Total goods exports for the 12 months was $57.2b while
