Services sector growth in April eases to slowest pace in seven years

Manufacturing activity recovers close to long-term average.

Business activity in the services sector fell in April but rose in manufacturing. Both indicators confirm the economy is slowing and will need a rapid recovery for the remainder of the year if official growth forecasts are to be met.
