Wall Street Journal sees trouble ahead for kiwi as US dollar rises

A report says currency traders are looking for signs in the New Zealand, Australian and Canadian dollars of the 'sort of malaise that often hits emerging markets.'

When President Donald Trumps tweet of a fortnight ago sent the Turkish lira tumbling, the slipstream effect on the Canadian, Australian and New Zealand currencies passed without much comment.

In fact, the drops of 3.5%, 6.2% and 5.7% respectively this year against the US dollar were welcomed
