Capital Letter: How alcohol displays in supermarkets should be decided

The Christchurch District Licensing Committee had imposed a single area alcohol condition on two supermarkets in the Foodstuffs franchise.

An Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority decision has been quashed by the High Court at Christchurch and returned for reconsideration.

In Christchurch Medical Officer of Health v J&G Vadurey Ltd, Justice David Gendall analysed in detail provisions of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012
