Philip Carter and his family continue to drive development projects in Christchurch including the recently completed $140 million The Crossing project.
Opened in September 2017, the fashion retail hub and car park, covering 44,000sqm, covers a city block between Cashel Mall and Colombo, Lichfield and High streets
Carter has said the group’s future lies with developments in greenfield priority resident and business areas in Christchurch city and the Selwyn district.
Son Andrew, and daughter, Nicki, managed The Crossing development.
Another son, former city councillor Tim Carter, is developing the $500m IPort business park at Rolleston, while youngest son James works for a leading Christchurch property valuation company.
In total, Carter Group now controls $500 million in property across property investment, property development and hotels, mainly in New Zealand but some in Australia as well.
The Carter family has continued to make financial contributions to Christchurch arts organisations.
