cievents general manager Julie McWatt says she’s very pleased with the appointments of Gloria and Sarah to their new positions with cievents, saying they are reflective of the companies continued success and growth.
“I’m thrilled with the recent appointments of Ms Yehia and Ms Downey-Groves. They both have fantastic track records of success and are well regarded in the industry. I’m looking forward to seeing them develop and add value to our team in what is a very exciting time for cievents.”
Joining cievents from her most recent role as account manager for Conferenz, Gloria Yehia, business development manager, will lead the sales growth of cievents.
Ms Yehia will be responsible for developing existing client relationships, as well as building new opportunities for the business.
“I see great growth opportunity within New Zealand for cievents and I am excited to be a part of that, contributing to the continued success of the company and leading on new initiatives,” Ms Yehia says.
With over 20 years’ experience in the industry, Gloria brings to the team a wealth of operational experience from her extensive and diverse events background. She has worked alongside both start-up organisations and the biggest and best known local and international accounts and understands the importance of developing corporate strategies that are dynamic and inspiring.
Joining the team from Xero, where she was the Xerocon project manager and previously from the event management agency Avenues, Sarah Downey-Groves, event director, has over 10 years’ experience working in the events industry in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, bringing with her a solid understanding of the industry.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of the cievents team and excited by the variety this role will bring. Seeing a client and their attendees enjoying the final result is what really drives me to keep coming up with fun and innovative ideas and I know I’m going to have many opportunities to do that in my new role,” Ms Downey-Groves says.
