Dave Clark steps back after 25 years leading company that bears his name – Dave Clark – one of Australasia’s leading digital product and brand agencies
After more than five decades in the design industry, including 25 years at the helm of the company that bears his name, founder Dave Clark is stepping back from the business to focus on his health and family.
Clark founded Dave Clark in 2001 alongside Andy Brown, Andrew Smith, and Jonathan Tillick, and together they have built the company into one of Australasia’s most respected digital product and brand agencies, working across New Zealand, Australia, and Asia.
“It’s been over 50 years since I began working in design, and it’s been one heck of a blast,” he said.
“I still love the industry and the people in it, but it’s time for me to take a step back, focus on my health, and spend more time with my family.
“I know this company is filled with amazing people, doing incredible work. It has an enormously bright future. I’ll still be cheering on all the incredible work that I know will continue to be done under the leadership of Andy, Andrew, and Jonathan.”
The company’s leadership and ownership continue unchanged, with co-founders Brown, Smith, and Tillick continuing to run the day-to-day operations. Each has long been responsible for the company’s network of studios in Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, Sydney, and Singapore.
“Although it’s a big moment for us, it’s not a big change,” says managing director Brown. “The same people and same leadership remain in place. Dave’s legacy is everywhere in this business, it’s not just his name, but it’s our culture, our craft, and our people, and we’ll continue to carry that forward.”
Clark, who will continue to visit the Auckland studio occasionally, is a true icon and legend in the design community, having led work for some of the region’s largest organisations and brands, and contributed to the professional growth of generations of those working in brand and developing digital products.
