ANZ Group chair Paul O’Sullivan today announced Graham Hodges will retire from the boards of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd and ANZ BH Pty Ltd as a non-executive director, effective February 8, at the conclusion of his three-year term.

Hodges joined the boards on February 8, 2023, following the establishment of a non-operating holding company structure to create distinct banking and non-banking groups within ANZ, for a term of three years.

Commenting on the announcement, O’Sullivan said: “We thank Graham for his enormous contribution to ANZ. His significant financial services experience and deep knowledge of ANZ have been particularly beneficial and we wish him and his family all the best for his future.”

Prior to his retirement from ANZ in 2018, Hodges had a successful 27-year career there, holding a variety of senior positions. This included deputy chief executive officer for nine years, as well as working across most areas of the bank, including stints as ANZ’s CFO, head of HR, head of operations and CEO Australia.

From November 2005 to May 2009, he was chief executive, New Zealand and a director of ANZ National Bank Ltd responsible for the running of ANZ Group’s New Zealand business.
