Global real estate consultancy JLL continues to strengthen its New Zealand Project and Development services (PDS) capability with the senior appointment of David Lee as project director and head of operations.
Lee joins Aimee Baker, who arrived in February with a remit to revitalise the New Zealand PDS business from JLL’s London branch, where she had led a team of more than 100 PDS professionals, including a net zero sustainability team.
Baker said Lee’s appointment enhanced JLL’s ability to support momentum through and beyond the current headwinds facing the commercial real estate market by driving efficiency and sustainability in development and refurbishment projects.
“David has that uncommon ability to balance technical knowledge and interpersonal skills – a combination that has allowed him to develop an enviable record in business growth and profitability.
“We see his appointment as an important step forward as we further establish our footprint and capacity to deliver world-class PDS services to our clients,” she said.
Lee, who most recently was part of the executive team that headed the rapid growth of TSA Management’s New Zealand business, said he was attracted to the role by the opportunity to apply his local project knowledge and management expertise with the backing of JLL’s global platform.
“The JLL philosophy of optimising long-term business performance through sustainable commercial real estate solutions is very much aligned to my personal ambition. It’s rare in New Zealand for real estate practices to have in-house PDS capability, and so I’m excited about the results we can achieve together.”
