Mainfreight to appoint new directors

Mainfreight Ltd has advised that Annie Steel and Hayley Buckley will join the company as non-executive directors from March 1, 2024.
“We have been searching for the appropriate individuals to join the Mainfreight board of directors for some time,” Mainfreight chair, Bruce Plested, advised. “We are delighted that Annie and Hayley have accepted these appointments and we look forward to the energy and skills they will bring to their roles.”
Buckley is a corporate partner for Wynn Williams, including chair of the Wynn Williams board, and has had significant experience across commercial law capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity funded management buy-outs. She has both national and international (London, UK and US) corporate legal experience across a number of business sectors. Buckley is a member of the NZ Institute of Directors, is an alumni of the Harvard Business School (2019) and has been admitted to the High Court of New Zealand and the Supreme Court of England and Wales. Her commercial acumen, energy, and work ethic will be of great assistance to the Mainfreight team.
Steel is also a corporate lawyer and has had considerable experience across complex and challenging corporate transactions and strategic advisory engagements. She is a partner of Harmos Horton Lusk and has been involved in a number of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and equity capital markets transactions. Steel is a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), a Bachelor of Arts (French and Chinese). Her energy and commercial expertise, along with her trilingual background will be welcomed by the Mainfreight team.
Buckley and Steel will stand for election at the company’s annual meeting of shareholders on July 25, 2024.
