New Zealand Opera has appointed Annabel Holland chairwoman, replacing Philip King who is moving overseas to take on a new business role.
Ms Holland has been involved with New Zealand Opera since 2016 as part of a development committee, and joined the board in early 2017. Following a masters in political science and a career practising architectural design in three established Christchurch firms, she has also been a trustee and interim chairwoman at Christchurch’s Centre of Contemporary Art Toi Moroki.
Mr King says Ms Holland quickly made herself a valuable member of the NZO board, bringing a wealth of connections in Christchurch. “Annabel has a great passion for the arts, and opera in particular.”
Ms Holland says this is an exciting time to take on the role, as the company prepares to unveil its plans to take opera to broader audiences.
