Professional services firm RSM New Zealand has appointed a new partner, Emma Richards.

Richards has more than 25 years of experience in tax and 16 years in innovation. She has previously been an R&D Unit inspector for HM Revenue & Customs in the UK, and has worked across IT, construction, biotech, and food technologies.

“Innovation shouldn’t stall for clarity or confidence,” she said. “Our approach is hands-on and outcome-focused and we’re already working with amazing businesses who are looking for smart ways to drive their products and operations forward.”

The firm has also launched a research and development (R&D) tax service line, dedicated to helping Kiwi businesses access and optimise government incentives.

RSM New Zealand managing partner Lisa Murphy said the firm recognised a growing opportunity for such a service. “As this specialised work continues, we’re able to significantly enhance our client experience by catering to their specific needs,” she said.

RSM is a global network of audit, tax, and consulting firms, with offices in more than 120 countries.
