Place branding agency, New Zealand Story Group, has appointed three private sector advisory board members.

The New Zealand Story Group was set up in 2012 to expand New Zealand’s value and reputation internationally. It supports Kiwi exporters and businesses to help tell unified and compelling stories about New Zealand.

Louise Aitken is the director of Thriving World and was most recently the chief executive of the Ākina Foundation, an impact consultancy focused on delivering social and environmental change.

Aitken brings a unique skill set and excellent understanding of global markets, from her time in global business management roles for Fonterra.

New Zealand Story Group advisory board member Andrew Baker.

Andrew Baker (Te Arawa, Tūwharetoa) is managing director of Tika Learning, a strategic cultural consultancy helping businesses in their journey to discover the value in authentically embracing Māori culture.

He was previously cultural development manager for Air New Zealand where he designed and oversaw the implementation of Air New Zealand’s Māori strategy.

New Zealand Story Group advisory board member Victoria Blood.

Victoria Blood has a long international career in the entertainment and creative industries, working with some of the biggest names in New Zealand’s music scene.

She is leader of WeCreate Incorporated, providing advice to the Government on policy matters affecting the creative sector. Her appointment builds on five years working with New Zealand Story.

“Collectively, this talented mix of private and public sector leaders will help drive the articulation of a ‘New Zealand story’ that enhances perceptions and favourability for our country amongst global audiences,” said New Zealand Story Group chief executive David Downs.
