PGG Wrightson director joins south island bank.
Former commercial lawyer, Sarah Brown, has been appointed as a director of SBS.
The professional director spent 11 years on the Southern Institute of Technology Council and six years as council chair.
Brown is currently on the boards of PGG Wrightson and Blue Sky Meats. In the past she has served on the boards of Electricity Invercargill and PowerNet.
SBS chairman Joe O’Connell said the new appointment should be viewed positively by its members, as the organisation continues to focus on key outcomes and benefits as a mutual bank.
Brown said that she felt privileged to be involved with such a long-standing organisation that focuses on putting its members at the forefront of everything it does.
Brown replaces director Anne McLeod appointed in 2015.
McLeod is also chair of Southsure Assurance connected to SBS.
