SenateSHJ announces appointments, promotions

SenateSHJ has appointed Maree Wilson as a partner in our Auckland office and announced the return of partner Marg Joiner from parental leave.
It has also announced the promotions of Kate Walsh and Andy Cameron to associate partner, Emma Ward to senior client manager and Caitlin Taylor to senior client executive.
Imogen Morris is the new office manager in Wellington.
Maree Wilson, partner, Auckland
Wilson is an internationally recognised communicator with extensive corporate and leadership experience at home and abroad. She led a number of key accounts in the aged care, aviation, dairy, finance and insurance sectors in her previous post. Wilson’s consulting experience includes a long-term secondment to Fonterra.
Marg Joiner, partner, Auckland
Joiner is head of the company’s public sector practice and part of its government relations and energy and resources practices. She has extensive experience in strategy, stakeholder relations and issues management. She is experienced at mediation and conflict resolution in a bi-cultural setting.
Kate Walsh, associate partner, Auckland
Walsh will join the firm’s New Zealand leadership team. She is an experienced strategic communications specialist with 10 years’ experience working in-house and in agencies. She has expertise in banking and finance, technology, telecommunications, export, retail, hospitality and FMCG. Walsh brings skills in strategic planning, corporate and market communications, crisis and reputation management, investor relations, stakeholder relations and change management.
Andy Cameron, associate partner, Wellington
Cameron has also been promoted to associate partner and appointed to SenateSHJ’s New Zealand leadership team. He has more than 14 years’ experience in government, including a recent secondment to the All-of-Government communications response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Prior to joining SenateSHJ, Andy worked for a number of government agencies, most recently NZTE and MFaT.
Emma Ward, senior client manager, Wellington
Ward provides communication advice and support to a range of clients. With more than six years consultancy experience, she has a strong background working with a range of clients, including a recent stint in the All-of-Government communications team for the Covid-19 pandemic response. Her skills include strategic communications, content development, media, stakeholder relations, and social media. Ward was the winner of the 2013 SenateSHJ Prize for communications and public relations
Caitlin Taylor, senior client executive, Wellington
Taylor provides communication advice and support to a range of public and private sector clients. She recently joined Cameron and Ward as part of the All-of-Government communications response to Covid-19. Taylor has more than two years communications experience working across the energy and resources, government and corporate sectors.
Imogen Morris, office manager and administration executive, Wellington
Morris is the new office manager and administration executive, based in the Wellington office. Her most recent role was production assistant for Weta Digital. Prior to this, she worked for homeware store Iko Iko in several roles including sales and marketing and inventory manager.
