SFS Private Wealth (SFS) has appointed Jason Lewthwaite as its new chief executive. Lewthwaite is a highly experienced senior executive with more than two decades of experience in banking and financial services, with extensive experience developing financial strategies, supporting international growth, and guiding organisations through periods of change. His previous role was head of international business at the Bank of New Zealand.

Lewthwaite’s background ideally complements SFS’s bespoke wealth management, offered through a client-centric, family office-style service backed by global insights and access to a wide range of global opportunities.

Founded by Dr Sharad Nair, who brings extensive private banking and entrepreneurial experience across global markets, SFS combines international capability with local ownership and a strong understanding of New Zealand’s investment environment.

“SFS is approaching the investor differently in the New Zealand market, by offering a private bank level of service, which is bespoke and high touch. SFS will be able to offer clients a truly international product offering, given its global network of partners and technical expertise. SFS has a strong focus on understanding each client and building solutions that reflect their needs,” said Lewthwaite.

“I’m looking forward to leading the team as we grow and continue to strengthen our offering.”

SFS chair Debbie Birch said about Lewthwaite joining and leading the team at SFS: “Jason possesses local New Zealand connections with an impressive international track record of servicing offshore clients from New Zealand – exactly the client audience SFS serves. He is ideally suited to delivering on the big aspirations of SFS.”
