Simpson Grierson has announced the promotion of Nina Blomfield (commercial litigation) and Tara Wylie (commercial property) to its partnership.
Simpson Grierson chair Anne Callinan said the firm is delighted to reward Blomfield’s and Wylie’s outstanding client service and market-leading reputations with these promotions.
“Both Nina and Tara are leaders within their fields and our firm. They are great examples for our junior team members and strong advocates for living our values,” Callinan said.
“It’s very pleasing to have promoted six new partners from within over the past three years.”
Nina Blomfield
Named a Rising Star in the 2021 Asia Pacific Legal 500 rankings, Blomfield is a member of Simpson Grierson’s commercial litigation group, based in Auckland. A specialist in complex litigation and the resolution of commercial disputes, she acts for clients before the courts at all levels, as well as in arbitrations and mediations.
Blomfield has a particular focus on company and financial markets law, shareholder disputes, regulatory matters, contractual breaches, class actions, and litigation funding. She also has expertise in competition law issues arising in business acquisitions, and regularly assists clients to obtain clearance for transactions from the Commerce Commission.
Tara Wylie
Wylie is a member of Simpson Grierson’s commercial property group, based in Auckland. Advising clients on all aspects of commercial property law, she specialises in sales and acquisitions, agribusiness (principally forestry and viticulture), energy, property development and commercial leasing (including complex design and build negotiations).
An adviser on overseas investment, Wylie has prepared a large number of successful overseas investment office applications and has been heavily involved in legislative change relating to the Overseas Investment Act. She also provides general property advice and undertakes due diligence investigations for both vendors and purchasers on one-off and large-scale portfolio transactions.
These promotions are effective from July 1, 2021.
