Speirs General Partner Ltd has appointed a new Speirs Foods chief executive, with effect from November 20, 2023.
This followed the retirement of Ross Kane, who was appointed MD of Speirs Foods on November 1, 2018. Kane’s appointment was based on a five-year services agreement that expired on October 31, 2023.
The new CEO of Speirs Foods is Jerem Wylie. Wylie has a proven track record as a successful chief executive across a wide range of New Zealand businesses, including experience in the FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) area. Wylie has a strong history of achieving success by cultivating and leading high-performing teams and ensuring profitable operations and is proficient in recognising and mitigating risks, devising effective solutions, and instigating positive transformations to foster growth and long-term viability.
Kane will remain on the board as a non-executive director of Speirs Foods – a manufacturer and supplier of fresh foods, mainly fresh salads, to supermarkets and the food service industry across NZ.
The company said: “We thank Ross for his five years of hard work in repositioning Speirs Foods in an extremely challenging market environment, particularly the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic and subsequent inflationary impacts.”
