Investment and advisory firm Jarden has announced the appointment of Dawie Olivier as chief technology officer.
Olivier has a distinguished tech career and his “fire lies in the overlap of people, technology, and innovation, leading him to generate transformative digital technologies and agile practices,” the media release said.
Jarden chief executiveJames Lee said: “Dawie’s deep expertise in driving innovation will guide our ongoing investment in platforms and technology to ensure we are digital by nature – a key part of our commitment to client needs.”
Olivier joins Jarden from executive technology leadership roles across investment and retail banks in South Africa and New Zealand. He was most recently at Westpac Banking Corporation, where he led the group program of transformation towards lines of business. Before that, he was the chief information officer at Westpac New Zealand, responsible for the rejuvenation of technology culture, method and engineering.
Olivier is an advisory board member of Clearpoint, a New Zealand software engineering businesses, and an adviser to startups within the fintech and cybersecurity landscape.
Olivier will commence the role in August.
