Law firm Dentons has appointed Joshua Jones to its banking and finance team.

Jones specialises in banking, restructuring, and insolvency law, with extensive experience advising banks, private equity sponsors, corporates, and non-bank lenders.

He will join banking and finance partner Liz Lim in Auckland from April 28.

In a statement, Lim said Jones’ extensive experience and deep expertise would undoubtedly strengthen the firm’s capabilities.

“Josh’s commitment to delivering outstanding client service, combined with his collaborative nature and practical approach, makes him an excellent addition to our team.”

Jones was previously at Lane Neave and Chapman Tripp in Auckland, and has also worked for Nomura and BNP Paribas in London.

Dentons’ New Zealand chief executive, Charles Spillane, described Jones as an expert in his field.

“We are thrilled to welcome him to Dentons. His vast experience in banking, restructuring, and insolvency law, both locally and internationally, will complement our Auckland team and further demonstrate our dedication to expanding our talent pool to better meet our clients' needs.”
