Driven by its mission to continue creating and delivering better communities across New Zealand, Woods recently announced that as of 9 August 2022, David Kidd will take on the role of CEO. In this role, he will be leading the Woods team and business operations to achieve its strategic ambitions.

As the first CEO of Woods, Kidd will focus on achieving sustainability across the growth of the business, its operations and as a land and infrastructure development leader in New Zealand.

Kidd has a history of helping businesses differentiate their brand reputation, enhance client experience, and create significant revenue growth and market share. Having spent 25 years in leadership roles in consultancy, professional, and financial services both in New Zealand and overseas, Kidd brings a depth of expertise in strategy, business development, marketing and operations. Before accepting his role at Woods, he spent five years on the executive team at WSP in New Zealand as director of client experience and strategic advisory. Before that, he was the general manager of marketing and client experience at BNZ.

"I'm really thrilled to be taking up the role of chief executive at Woods. It will be a privilege to lead this successful 50-year-old New Zealand business with its rich heritage, diverse talented team, and long-standing client relationships," Kidd said.

In addition to protecting the culture and ethos of Woods, one of Kidd’s first priorities will be working with the team, board, clients, and stakeholders to develop a compelling growth strategy and implement Woods’ five-year strategic plan. He has also set his sights on developing Woods’ tikanga and their capability to leverage Te Ao Māori principles in their work.
