Private Bin was surprised to learn that TeamTalk MD David Ware does not own a mobile.
Afterall, his company - which owns Wellington’s highly-regarded CityLink fibre network and sells digital radio gear - is rather heavily invested in the communications business.
“I used to have a cellphone years ago but I find I’m more productive without it,” Mr Ware told Private Bin.
“I organise meetings and people just turn up. It forces a little bit of discipline.”
Does he own a pager?
Nope.
So what happens when the TeamTalk boss is out of the office when something urgent hits?
“There have been occasions when my PA has had to run down Courtney Place looking in every bar for me,” conceded Mr Ware.
“But it hasn’t happened often.”
