Award-winning architecture and masterplanning practice Construkt is continuing to bolster its numbers, hiring three new staff already this year. The new recruits bring the practice’s headcount to 21.
Construkt director David Gibbs says the practice’s growth is necessary to keep pace with the increasing demand for expertise in the residential space. While activity is widely expected to peak this year, economic forecaster BIS Shrapnel predicts the value of residential work over the next five years will be about $3.3 billion in New Zealand. Unsurprisingly, Auckland will be the biggest driver of activity.
“Here in Auckland, the Unitary Plan and Special Housing Areas initiatives are big drivers of growth for us,” says Mr Gibbs.
With capabilities spanning masterplanning, urban design and architecture, he says Construkt is ideally placed to support Auckland’s housing push.
“With our growing team, we’re looking forward to the future with considerable confidence,” says Mr Gibbs.
