Private capital investment dragged down $1b by fewer big deals

Valuation expectations a key challenge for 2026.

Private capital investment and divestment activity dropped 32% to $2.5 billion in 2025 from $3.76b the prior year, dragged down by the value of top-end deals.

The 23rd NZ Private Capital Monitor, published Monday evening, shows total investment of $1.77b for 2025 spread across 276 transactions.
