Destination Queenstown (DQ) is pleased to announce the promotion of communications and sector Strategy Manager Sarah Stacey to the new position of marketing and communications director, effective from November 2015.
Sarah has been with DQ for two years as communications manager. With a Bachelor of Communication Studies from AUT, Sarah has extensive communications and marketing experience. Prior to her appointment at DQ, she held senior marketing and communications management roles with Good Group Ltd, Millbrook Resort and Skycity Queenstown, building great local Queenstown knowledge and networks.
In her new role, Sarah will steer the direction of DQ’s consumer marketing projects, as well as leading the organisation’s communications.
She will be responsible for the management of the marketing team and ensuring that all marketing activity is in line with the organisation’s strategic plan. A new brand and marketing manager will be recruited shortly to complete DQ’s communications and marketing team, while Sarah will also continue to lead the media and communications team at DQ.
Sarah’s current team is media executive Robyn Columbus, communications executive Jessica Harkins, campaign marketing executive Vanessa Hartnell and online and market insights executive Seb McKinnon.
DQ CEO Graham Budd is delighted to expand Sarah’s role within the organisation.
“This is an excellent opportunity for Destination Queenstown to further utilise Sarah’s communications and marketing experience. She has an excellent understanding of DQ and the Queenstown tourism industry and I know she will make an even greater impact on the organisation in this new leadership role,” he says.
Sarah will officially commence her role on 16 November 2015.
