Listed Goodman Property Trust has secured engineering and maintenance services provider Downer EDI to a new $5.1 million building at Christchurch.
The building will be a 2000sq m warehouse with offices, at Goodman’s Glassworks Industry Park in Halswell Junction, Hornby.
Downer’s new building will be completed in March, and it has signed a 15 year lease with regular inflation adjustments and a market review in 2021.
Other tenants at the 26,006sq m industrial park valued at $21 million totally include NZ Safety, Fisher & Paykel, and Big Chill Distribution.
Since the 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck the region on September 4, Goodman Property Trust secured tenants on short term leases at its Glassworks site and its Show Place Office Park at Addingtion, Christchurch.
“Given recent events in Christchurch it is particularly pleasing to announce this development pre-commitment and other positive leasing results. It reinforces our belief that investing in high quality property assets is the most appropriate long term strategy,” Goodman Property Trust chief executive John Dakin said.
