Duncan Cotterill enhances property finance practice with new hire

Duncan Cotterill is pleased to announce the appointment of associate Simon Munday to its Auckland office. bolstering the commercial team's specialist expertise in property and real estate finance.

The announcement adds momentum to what is an exciting growth phase at the firm. following the addition of three new partners to the Auckland office and the internal promotion of four new partners earlier this year.

With more than a decade of experience acting for a wide range of high-level clients including global financial institutions. investors. developers. landlords, tenants and corporates with extensive property portfolios.

Simon says he was prompted to make the move to Duncan Cotterill due to its dynamic and supportive environment.

"I'm looking forward to supporting the momentum that Duncan Cotterill is building and to working alongside such an impressive and motivated team. I feel as though the firm is a superb fit for me and I'm excited to complement the great work they're already doing in the property finance sector." Simon says.

Simon joins Duncan Cotterill after more than seven years in the commercial property department at Buddle Findlay where he was a senior associate prior to which he spent two years working in London as part of the banking team at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

Duncan Cotterill chair Richard Smith says, "We are delighted to have Simon join us as we look to expand and enhance our existing capabilities.

Simon has an impressive portfolio and will be a great asset to our Auckland office." Some of his most recent projects include advising an Australasian property group on developing large residential communities and retail precincts in New Zealand. and advising a global finance company on the sale of its real estate loan book. Duncan .Cotterill will be relocating from its current premises in the CPO Building in Britomart. to the historic Australis Nathan Building in October.
