Enrolment packs for the November 26 general election are in the mail.
Electoral Enrolment Centre national manager Murray Wicks said packs were being posted today, and anyone who had not received one by Thursday would need to enrol.
"The enrolment update packs being sent out this week are your chance to check your details, make any changes that need to be made, and find out more information about the election and (MMP) referendum," Mr Wicks said.
Christchurch residents displaced by the recent earthquakes could miss out on packs if they had not had their mail re-directed.
They, and anyone else who did not receive a pack, should visit www.elections.org.nz, call 0800 36 76 56, text 3676 with their name and address or go to a PostShop.
"The start of the enrolment drive signals the countdown to election day has officially started," Mr Wicks said.
"We can't say it strongly enough -- the only way to vote in this year's general election and referendum is to be enrolled, so get ready for it now."
