Air New Zealand ceo Rob Fyfe is heading to Blenheim to support the engineer’s family, friends and colleagues.
An aircraft engineer has died at Air New Zealand’s engine maintenance company Safe Air in Blenheim.
Air New Zealand confirmed the death, which happened during a "routine maintenance operation" this morning.
More information will be released later this morning.
Safe Air is a former freight airline that now designs, makes and services engines, airframes and engine components.
The Blenheim-based company is wholly owned by Air New Zealand and has a subsidiary, Safe Air Australia, in Melbourne.
