Ex-National MP Trevor Vicemar Rogers was today jailed for a month for disobeying a court order to surrender intellectual property to receivers of his failed multi-million dollar helicopter project.
Police whisked Mr Rogers (67) away from the Auckland High Court within minutes of Justice Peter Woodhouse making a committal order for contempt of court.
Justice Woodhouse adjourned the jailing of Mrs Glenda Frances Rogers, also 67, until March 3, when the couple were ordered to return to the court with a warning from the judge they could again face further imprisonment.
Mr Rogers could reflect, in prison, on purging his contempt, while Mrs Rogers could do the same out of prison, the judge said.
In a lengthy affidavit to the court, Mr and Mrs Rogers attacked Justice Woodhouse’s December judgment, continuing to claim hard copies of all helicopter intellectual property relating to their company TGR Helicorp, had been shredded, electronic copies wiped and other unrecovered tangible assets destroyed.
