New in the job at MediaWorks, Grant Thornton, Landcorp; a raft of new SOE directors.
Grant Thornton New Zealand has appointed Vicki Caisley national director of people and culture. For the past seven years she has been working as a HR consultant,within the health, banking and finance and FMCG sectors. Earlier she was the human resources manager at National Women’s and Starship Children’s Health. Ms Caisley is also a board member of the NZ Fire Service. James Johnstonhas been promoted to associate with the Privately Held Business team. Mr Johnston has been with Grant Thornton for more than 10 years, including two years at the Grant Thornton International office in London.
Director and chartered accountant Bill Baylis has taken over as chairman of Landcorp Farming from Jim Sutton, who is retiring. Mr Baylis has been a director since 2009. He is a director of Dunedin City Holdings, Helicopters NZ, Port of Tauranga and Carisbrook Stadium Trust. His other chairmanships are with Blackhead Quarries, Dairy Holdings and Real Journeys. He has previous chaimanship experience on a number of private sector boards including Anderson Lloyd Lawyers and Australasian Food Holdings (Australia)’s subsidiaries including Huttons Kiwi Ltd, Tip Top NZ and Mainland Products. He is also the former chairman of PGG Wrightson and United Electricity.
In other SOE appointments, NZ Post director Murray Gribbenwill become deputy chairman and director Raewyn Lovett will become deputy chairwoman of Quotable Value. New directors on SOE boards are:
• Crown Fibre Holdings: Danelle Dinsdale (former senior equity partner and head of the IT & Telecoms team at DLA Piper UK);
• Electricity Corporation of New Zealand (residual): Jane Meares (barrister with Clifton Chambers, formerly with the Treasury and partner of Bell Gully);
• Kordia: Tony Briscoe (former managing director of Telecom NZ International);
• Landcorp Farming: Chris Day (former chief financial officer of Axa Insurance), Nikki Davies-Colley (cattle and sheep farmer and company director) and Pauline Lockett(chartered accountant and New Plymouth District councillor);
• NZ Post: Carol Campbell (chartered accountant and business adviser, formerly a partner of Ernst & Young) and Richard Leggat (former banker and member of the Tourism NZ Board); and
• Quotable Value: Kim Wallace (chief financial officer of Westland Milk Products).
MediaWorks Radio has appointed Matt Headland network sales manager. Mr Headland was previously the country manager for EMI Music NZ. His earlier roles include national sales manager at MTV Networks NZ, head of Capitol Music Group and various marketing and sales roles with Publicis Mojo NZ, Telstar Records UK, Warner Music NZ and The Radio Network.
Software provider Pitney Bowes New Zealand has appointed Misti Landtroop general manager. Ms Landtroop was previously with Microsoft as director of small, midmarket solutions and partners in New Zealand.
IT security and data protection company Sophos has appointed Stuart Fisher managing director for Asia Pacific. He replaces Rob Forsyth who will continue with Sophos as a non-executive director. Mr Fisher was formerly vice president of sales for Asia Pacific. Before joining Sophos in 2010, Mr Fisher was a vice president at Sybase, an SAP company. He also held several regional-level management, sales and marketing roles in Asia Pacific at SAP between 2001 and 2009.
Hannah Kite has been appointed an associate with investment bank Murray & Co. She was previously in management at eBenchmarkers, a London-based financial services consultancy where she had editorial responsibility for the company’s largest benchmark study in online general insurance. She was earlier an economic analyst with the Reserve Bank.
