Executive appointments

ANZ National has appointed Craig Bunyan general manager of Technology New Zealand. Mr Bunyan has spent more than 20 years in the IT industry in a range of industries, including banking and finance. He was general manager, technology solutions for ASB Bank for five years and has worked in consulting roles for a range of major clients including Air New Zealand, Clear Communications, the Warehouse and TransPower. For the past 18 months, he has been programme director for the Payments Enablement Programme at ANZ.

Water Safety New Zealand has appointed Matt Claridge chief executive. Mr Claridge, who has worked for Water Safety NZ since 2004 – most recently as its interim chief executive – has more than a decade’s experience in the swimming and water safety sector.

Deloitte has appointed Campbell Rose as a tax partner in the firm’s Auckland office. Mr Rose has been a partner of law firm Russell McVeagh for the past six years.

Pure Advantage, the organisation developing the business case for green growth, has appointed Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu Kaiwhakahaere chairman Mark Solomon as a trustee. Mr Solomon hails from Kaikoura and is of Ngati Kuri and Ngai Tahu descent.

Louisa Boyd has joined Buddle Findlay’s Auckland office as a solicitor in the banking and finance team, specialising in tax and charities law. Previously, Ms Boyd worked at a general practice law firm and in the tax team at another top tier firm.

Enprise Solutions has appointed Jonathon Burrows business development manager for the Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. Mr Burrows was previously with Yellow as an agency account manager.

IT recruitment firm Seâd has appointed Lauren Blumgart and Laleet Narayan to its account management team. Ms Blumgart has over 13 years of recruitment experience across IT, engineering and accounting and finance. Mr Narayan has had 10 years of management and market research experience and has spent the past three years in recruitment within the Auckland market. Previously, he worked for AC Nielsen managing teams specialising in quantitative data analysis and market insights for clients.

Simpson Grierson has appointed Libby Schurr and Bronwyn Heenan senior associates and Deborah Lowthian legal executive associate. Ms Schurr joins the firm’s Auckland commercial litigation group after four years at Herbert Smith LLP in London, specialising in intellectual property and patent litigation. Ms Heenan joins the Wellington employment group with significant experience gained both in New Zealand and the UK. Ms Lowthian re-joins the firm in the Auckland transactional banking and finance group, having worked at another local practice. 

McDonald’s New Zealand has appointed Chris Brown director of marketing. Mr Brown has worked  for several premium car companies including Renault and BMW. He has been working in Australia for the past eight years. Jacky Hollingsworthhas been promoted to chief of finance, taking over from Quentin Smith, who has moved into a newly formed business partner role.  Ms Hollingsworth has been with McDonald’s since September 2011 as finance manager. Previously Ms Hollingsworth contracted to businesses in the finance support and business systems development. She has also held finance and information manager and commercial manager positions with Ferrit.co.nz and Telecom.

Rakon appointed Peter Springford to its board as an independent director. Mr Springford has recently been chairman of a large Chengdu wood products business and a listed Hong Kong printing and packaging company and has lived and worked in Asia. He is a director of Nuplex Industries and Refining NZ and was formerly chief executive of Carter Holt Harvey.

2degrees has appointed Trent Harnett head of marketing communications. He has been with 2degrees since 2008, most recently managing the prepay market segment. He has over 10 years marketing and advertising experience with telcos in New Zealand and the UK.

Carla Robertson-Holmes has been appointed key account manager for the lower South Island region for realestate.co.nz. Ms Robertson-Holmes has an account management background with NZ Post as well as the newspaper industry. Most recently she has been involved in the thoroughbred horse breeding industry. Jethro Gilbert has been appointed key account manager for Wellington and the lower North Island. Mr Gilbert has a background of sales in the IT and finance sector. He spent two years with the NZ Army, based in Trentham involved with the Youth Development Unit.  Gavin Lloyd will manage key accounts for the upper North Island, including Auckland. Mr Lloyd has been with Realestate.co.nz for two years.Jodi Wood, who has been with the company for three years, will manage key accounts in South Auckland and the central North Island.

Extreme Networks has appointed Joy Ghosh vice-president, Asia-Pacific sales. His responsibilities cover Australia and New Zealand. Mr Ghosh is a former sales executive from Cisco Systems. He has also worked in sales roles for Symantec, Wipro and Zscaler. Mr Ghosh was the first Asia sales leader for IronPort Systems, a leading maker of anti-spam software, which was acquired by Cisco.
