ASB Bank has appointed three new directors: Jane Freeman, Rob Jesudason and Michael Coomer. Ms Freeman is the chairwoman of Pumpkin Patch and a board member of Delegats Group. She has been general manager of Esolutions, general manager of Bank Direct and general manager, residential markets for Clear Communications. Her previous board appointments include Air New Zealand, St George Bank NZ and Sky City Entertainment Group. Mr Jesudason is group head of strategy for ASB’s parent company, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He joined the bank from Credit Suisse in September 2011, where his most recent role was managing director and head of global emerging markets within the bank’s financial institutions group based in Hong Kong. Mr Coomer has held senior global roles in the IT and financial services industries during his over 40 year career. His experience includes two years as executive vice-president, Asia Pacific for Electronic Data Systems and group executive, business and technology services for Westpac Australia. 

DLA Phillips Fox has appointed Resource Management Act specialist Rob Enright as a partner. Mr Enright will head the resource management team in Auckland.  He has over nearly 20 years of experience in resource management, infrastructure projects and Maori resource issues.

Intellectual property law firm AJ Park has appointed Alan Potter managing partner. He replaces Greg Arthur, who was managing partner for six years. Mr Potter was recently awarded Best Lawyers’ 2012 Auckland Intellectual Property Lawyer of the Year. He has been an IP specialist since 1994 and joined AJ Park as a partner in 2005.

Hugh Morrison, chief executive of Arrow International’s New Zealand operations, has been appointed chief executive of Arrow International Group. Two new external directors have also been appointed. Clive Appletonhas worked for Australia’s leading retail property investment, management and development groups including Jennings Properties, Gandel Group and APN Property Group.Paul McDonald has a track spent over 30 years in property development, asset management, funds management and engineering construction. He was chief executive at MAB Corporation and has worked for Lend Lease, Leighton Contractors and Chord Partners. Tim Andersonhas been appointed as Christchurch branch manager. Mr Anderson has had 30 years’ experience in the construction sector spanning building, civil and project management. He has worked for large contractors in New Zealand and Australia. Previously he worked for Fulton Hogan.

Brett Carter has been appointed principal counsel (informed consumer) at the Commerce Commission. He will lead the commission’s consumer law legal team. Mr Carter has been with the commission since 2006, first as legal counsel and since 2008 as senior legal counsel. He has 12 years’ experience in commercial and criminal litigation and has an LLB from the University of Auckland. David Blacktophas been appointed principal counsel (competition). He will lead the commission’s competition law legal team. Previously, he was with Bell Gully, where he was a senior associate. He has an LLB and BCA (Hons) from Victoria University.

Sky City Hotels has appointed Dylan Rushbrook director of sales – international. Mr Rushbrook was previously the wholesale sales manager for the Scenic Hotel group.

Kevin Brough has been appointed to CA Technologies to head the Australia and New Zealand telco and media team. He was previously regional sales director for Microsoft’s telco business in Asia.Craig Williams has been appointed to head the banking, financial services and insurance team. He was previously general manager of EMC’s Documentum business.

Intel has appointed Anna Torres national marketing manager and V R Rajkumar (Raj) national reseller channel manager. Ms Torres has been with Intel for nine years and has been Intel ANZ PR manager since 2007. Previously, she was Oracle alliance manager. She has an MBA in marketing. Mr Rajkumar joined Intel in 2000 in India, before moving to Australia with Intel in 2005. He has been Intel Australia New Zealand distribution manager since 2007.He has an engineering degree.

Tonia Brugh has been appointed a senior associatein Tompkins Wake’s commercial and corporate team.

Pacnet has appointed Nigel Stitt chief executive of its Australia and New Zealand business. With more than 21 years of IT and telecommunications experience, Mr Stitt has served in senior positions with Pacnet over the past eight years, most recently national sales director for Pacnet Australia. Previously, Mr Stitt was general manager of Techcel/CNN. Mr Stitt replaces Deborah Homewood who had 10 years in the role.
