Executive Appointments

ASB Bank has appointed Greg Beehre general manager, industry specialisation. Mr Beehre will rejoin ASB from another bank where he was the area manager for transactional banking for three years. His career started with ASB where he worked for 10 years across the retail, business, commercial and institutional banking areas. He also has international experience in compliance and private banking. Mr Beehre will lead a specialist team on franchising, professionals, Maori business and transaction banking. ASB has also appointed Mark Heer general manager, rural. Mr Heer has spent over 20 years career in rural and corporate banking. He has been with ASB for five years, most recently in a role focusing on development of the rural corporate area. Originally from Otago, and with a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from Massey University, he spent eight years working for the Rural Bank in the South Island followed by roles with other major banks in area management and corporate banking.

Former Waitakere mayor Bob Harvey has been re-appointed chairman of the Auckland Council-controlled organisation, Waterfront Auckland, for another year. Mr Harvey has chaired the development agency since its inception in September 2010.

Tamaki Redevelopment Company’s newly appointed chief executive Debra Lawson has more than 20 years’ experience leading urban regeneration programmes. She will be accountable for delivering the Tamaki Transformation Programme, which will see Tamaki (including Glen Innes, Point England and Panmure) in Auckland transformed over the next 15-25 years. The company has been jointly formed by the government and Auckland Council and is the first of its kind in New Zealand. Ms Lawson has worked at the leading edge of public-private partnership initiatives as a chief executive, delivering large-scale and complex urban regeneration programmes within the diverse communities of South London, with a strong focus on accountability to local people.

Enprise has appointed a former accountant with seven years of Exo consultancy experience as client engagement manager. Kris Schneider also has a degree in business innovation. She has also been a small business owner and worked at a global manufacturing corporate in the aerospace industry and business management consulting.

Paul Durdin, a director of Christchurch-based Abley Transportation Consultants, has joined the board of a technical committee assessing the safety and risk of urban arterials and intersections throughout the country. The KiwiRAP (Road Assessment Programme) committee, originally set up to identify safety and risk profiles for rural state highways, has been reconvened to review urban corridors. Mr Durdin is a specialist traffic and transportation engineer with extensive consultancy experience in Australia and New Zealand.

Acronis, a provider of disaster recovery and data protection solutions for physical, virtual and cloud environments, has appointed Andy Purvis general manager Australia and New Zealand. Mr Purvis has over 25 years’ experience in leadership, general and executive management positions. Previously, Mr Purvis was an executive director at Dell developing its Enterprise Solutions & Services offerings in the APAC region.

Semiconductor, telecommunication, digital media and digital convergence technologies firm Samsung NZ has appointed Michael Cornwell marketing director. Mr Cornwell has a B Com in marketing from the University of Otago. In a career spanning 16 years he has held senior sales and marketing roles in the technology and beverages industries at Hewlett-Packard and Lion in New Zealand and Red Bull and Invivo Wines in Canada.
